Located in the heart of the Pocono Mountain resort area, Pocono
International Raceway is recognized as one of NASCAR's most competitive
speedways. The raceway has a unique 2.5 mile tri-oval concept. The design
brings together three varying radius turns with different banking degrees.
This, coupled with different straightaway lengths, brings great variety to
the speedway.
If you want to make this a little more than a weekend visit, the Poconos are an ideal getaway. Covering 2,400 square miles, the Pocono Mountains is a truly exquisite region, full of wooded hills, tranquil valleys, lakes, ponds and streams. ITINERARY
Friday, July 19:
Arrive by road direct to the hotel, or by air to Wilkes- Barr/Scranton
International Airport. Transfers can be arranged to take you to the
Mountain Laurel Resort. In the evening enjoy, meet your fellow travelers at
our Welcome Party.
Saturday, July 20:
Transfer by coach to the ARCA Series race. Return late afternoon to the
Mountain Laurel Resort. In the evening enjoy the live television show,
NASCAR Saturday Night.
Sunday, July 21:
Early morning departures for the Miller 500 at Pocono International Raceway.
Then take your grandstand seat for the race. Transfer to airport at the
appropriate time for your return flight, or return to the hotel.

SPEEDWAY AND LAST YEAR'S RACE
PIR is a unique tri-oval raceway located close to the resorts in the Pocono
mountains. Dale Jarrett brought an out-of fuel number 28 home for its first win of the
season. Jeff Gordon was happy to take second place and Ricky Rudd third.
