PHOENIX 500

Phoenix, AZ, October 27:
Tucked away in the foothills of the rugged Estrella Mountains is the one mile oval of Phoenix International Raceway. PIR has hosted a vast number of racing events over its thirty year history, but none attracts more attention than the annual visit of the Winston Cup Series. Every grandstand seat will be sold months before the event takes place, as 100,000 race fans come to see the stars of NASCAR on their only visit to the Southwest.

Your weekend includes our Friday night welcome party with the incomparable Buddy Baker. Buddy will bring you up to date with the latest Winston Cup news. At the track, watch from high in the grandstands at our favored seat locations, reserved for you over twelve months ago. Enjoy our optional hospitality chalet, which includes food and refreshments served throughout Sunday. Included in this package is a pit lane tour on Sunday. Special guest on Saturday is Winston Cup legend Rusty Wallace. Meet Rusty when he visits you for questions and answer session. There will be opportunities for photos and autographs during the visit.

As if this is not enough excitement for one weekend, you are invited to NASCAR Saturday Night. Watch the show from your preferred seating as Eli Gold welcomes Winston Cup Celebrities.

Staying in the resort town of Scottsdale, you are close to the best restaurants, shops and stores. You will find all your needs taken care of within walking distance in Old Scottsdale. All airport and track transfers are included, making this weekend of Winston Cup excitement totally relaxing.

Eli Gold's new TNN show, NASCAR Saturday Night, welcomes you. Join Eli from your preferred seating as he introduces top NASCAR personalities. This live hour long show includes the very latest scuttlebutt - and your chance to ask your questions - possibly on live nationwide television.

ITINERARY
Friday, October 26:
Arrive by flight and transfer by hotel shuttle bus, or go directly by car to your hotel in Scottsdale. You will be met upon arrival by your Grand Prix Tours representative. In the evening, enjoy a party hosted by Buddy Baker.
Saturday, October 27:
Depart for the circuit to watch the GM Goodwrench 200K Super Truck race. If you selected the VIP option, you will meet special guest Rusty Wallace in the GPT Hospitality Chalet. In the evening, all are invited to the NASCAR Saturday Night show where you have preferred reserved seating. After the show, at leisure to enjoy the resort town, with its excellent restaurants, entertainment and shopping.
Sunday, October 27:
Early morning departure for the Winston Cup Phoenix 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. Racing starts at 12:00 noon. With the optional hospitality you have refreshments, food and a morning tour of the pit lane. Return late afternoon for your ground transfer to the airport.

SPEEDWAY & LAST YEAR'S RACE
The PIR oval is set in attractive desert surroundings twenty minutes west of Phoenix. Seating on the start and finish straight gives a full view of all the action.

Ricky Rudd kept his annual winning record complete with a win. Derek Cope came a very close second, and the ever present Earnhardt third.
