There's a new depth to Sledge; like James Carr ( who's alson been attempting a comeback recently) who sounds both wounded by tima and soothed by the wisdon of maturity. He might have lost just a smidgen of his vecal power, but any wavers or quivers merely bring added vulmerability to what's already one ot the most hurt-soundign voices in recorded R & B history.
