Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Barry Levinson's work seems to be about conveying stories about things everyone can Not relate to.
A lot of the conflict regarding this movie has been misdirected by ultra-sensitive religious types. I don't think God really gives a flying fuck about how we humans interpret anything to do with him, or the ethics surrounding shepherds tending to his flock...
The point I got out of this movie is about REVENGE. Somebody I worked with back in New York once told me that revenge was a dish best served COLD.
Here in Sleepers Levinson unwittingly serves up the frozen pizza in the scene where the two children, grown to men, encounter their oppressor 20 years later.
Everybody lies. I can relate to that. Tell me about revenge and how to execute it when the hinge turns...Wow!
The emotions conveyed by the actors at the advent of revenge is something I could not relate to, since I've not served up a frozen pizza. That is what the great directors are made of: The ability to make you feel through an actor a feeling that you've never experienced.
Levinson's got the knack. And such is the nature of the muse in this soundtrack that causes me to spout from the feelings John Williams' music emotes.

High Octane Cult
Why the pulp pushers are so reticent to recognize The Cult's impact and continued presence in the 90's with offshoot band, Holy Barbarians only proves that most [music] writers are about contributing to the 35% post consumer content of the toilet paper I use.
You motherfuckers that down The Cult and the Holy Barbarians ought to go work for Q-tips, because your deaf fuckin' ears don't belong in any business that has MUSIC in it.
The Cult Reigns Supreme. Fuck all you rag-peasants.
Too bad "White" and "Soldier Blue" did not make it to this 104+ Octane mix.

Music From the Motion Picture
I went to see this movie mainly because Cameron Crowe was committed to the project, which means the music is gonna be on time.
Crowe has eclipsed himself with this movie, since Tom Cruise went outside of his stardom and became the character...I was looking at Jerry Maguire and not a guy from Nutley, NJ.
The music is kool. However, there is a scene where Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s character is breaking down Jerry Maguire and that music is not on this CD...What I recall of it is that these cats are rapping over the patterns to Bill Wither's "Who Is He What Is He To You". That was the shit and made the scene happen, but maybe it doesn't fit with the rest of the Rock stuff on this CD.
Bruce Springsteen's hauntingly sincere voice makes an impact in the movie as well.
Cuba Gooding, Jr. is gonna make it difficult for John Mahoney to get the Best Supporting Actor Oscar (TM).
The Crowe man is a motherfucker.
Right-On, Cameron.
