This guy went and blew his brains out in 1967, whereas, Phil Spector went on to make millions. Both of these men had/have the key to that certain sound that moved people. Meeks influence could be felt through much of the music of that period.

My buddy Chip used to drag me down to The Mason Jar in Tempe, Arizona to listen to The Jetzons back in the early Eighties.
Something about the vibe of live music in the desert in the middle of Summer is distilled in this album for anyone to feel.
It's the same vibe I got listening to the Jetzons.

Gin Blossoms could have come from Idaho, Dayton,Ohio or any far flung city
or state of your choice you'd normally not associate as having anything to do
with Rock music.

Whitewash is indicative of the 'Tempe Sound'...I swear this is eerily
similar to songs other bands from Tempe are copping. That's as specific
as I want to get.
